Chaneylaine (Nya Harris) was born in Annapolis, MD, and raised in Baltimore, MD. She grew up constantly singing around the house. She eventually auditioned for the Baltimore School for the Arts. She got accepted and has been studying music ever since. She began her music career after graduating from her alma mater, The University of the Arts. Her musical inspirations and education greatly influence her art and vocals. Her voice is a fusion of R&B, jazz, and pop that has been greatly shaped by the musical environments she has inhabited. Her music is laid back with an emotional center that conveys reliability and an interest in romance. Vulnerability is also a recurring theme in her upcoming projects. Her first single, “Runaway”, is a representation of the style she’ll be most known for.
